Designed for the iPad, but now works on the iPhone 5 and later. Absolute Backgammon is a full featured backgammon game that contains both backgammon and acey deucey. The best backgammon app for iPad. Definitely. And I know what I’m talking about.

This is by far the best Backgammon App in the Store. Even though it could be improved in regards of UI/haptic the Virtual player Algo is by far the best. Taking risks, changing strategies, surprising moves.

Some bad moments

Im super bummed as for the most part this looks like it would be amazing and unlike most digital backgammon apps this is one of two that play acey ducey. Sadly though after paying $5 I am not able to play acey ducey as anytime I roll a 1-2 the game gets caught in an infinite doubles loop.

Ive been playing Davids backgammon on my mac for years. This is just as good. At the hardest level, it is a worthy opponent. It doesnt cheat nor does it give itself better rolls of the dice to win as others do. If you like backgammon, this is the one to get.

I bought Absolute Backgammon for my laptop about three years ago and love the game - play it all the time. So I thought Id be getting a similar positive experience when I bought the game for iPad. Wrong. Its full of bugs and basically unplayable. Id like my money back. Is that possible?

You cant play a human opponent and force the rules of the game to be followed. For example, if 2 player mode is selected, you can move as many pieces as you want on each turn and place them wherever on the board. Disappointing.

The app is full of bugs. Games hang, multiple moves per dice throw, help does not work etc. Needs some serious work. Waste of money at this time.

Most bugs seem to be fixed, but a huge one was introduced. Playing acey deucey if you roll a 1 and 2 you get to select the next doubles forever. So I was able to win the game on the first roll. Oops.
